Early in my career, after filling a particularly tough role, a client said to me: “You’ve got moxie.”
It stuck.
Not because it sounded clever, but because it perfectly described the way I work. Moxie is grit. Confidence. Tenacity. It’s doing the uncomfortable work, asking better questions, pushing past “good enough,” and not backing down when the search gets hard.
When I launched my own firm, the name was obvious.

I’m Sally Holland, Founder and President of HireMoxie, and I’ve spent more than 25 years in recruiting. I’m a headhunter by trade and by instinct. This isn’t a side hustle or a short stop on my career path – I’m a lifer.
Over the years, I’ve worked inside corporate recruiting teams, agency environments, and alongside business owners who were burned by bad hires, wasted time, and recruiters who over-promised and under-delivered. I saw firsthand what doesn’t work, and what consistently does.
